Do the laundry, make the meals

Pack the stuff everyone needs

We want to leave today by four

Hurry lets get out the door.

Set up panels, set up camp

Help them to become a champ

You have a shift in the timers booth

Hold my horse so he don't spook.

Ironed the shirts, back numbers on

Entry forms signed, moneys gone

Extra pins, elastic bands

Hey there Mom, I need a hand.

Did you bring my coat & hat? Where is this & where is that?

Have you seen my roping glove?

And that purple shirt I love?

Can you please boot up my horse? Sure I can - I will - of course

Then haul some water & some hay

And video all my runs today.

The dummy ropin' starts at eight

Can I eat so I won't be late? You best be back here by ten thirty

Feeding at six am comes early.

Did you see my barrel race? Can't get that smile off her face

And see that great team roping run

High School Rodeo is so much fun.

Then the weekend comes to an end

Shovel shit, take down the pen

Pick up ropes & halters & goat strings

And an assortment of other things.

Shove it all in the tack room door

Grab the chairs & electric cord

Close the fridge door really tight

Turn off the heater & the light.

Grab some snacks for the road

Horses are all ready to load

Head on down the road again

Be ready to repeat next weekend.

Some days are diamonds, some are dirt

Wipe the tears, heal the hurt

Keep cheering them on in the stands

Rodeo Moms & Dads are the biggest fans.
